Experimental Electronic Music
and Visual Arts Festival
La Farinera del Clot & Convent de Sant Agustí

The sixth festival of experimental electronic music and visual arts organized by the platform Störung will start next Thursday 14th of April offering us, during three days, the performances of outstanding national and international artists of the electronic and experimental scene.

This festival wants to offer the audience the chance of getting to know in detail different tendencies of the electronic music scene, continuing the work that the multidisciplinary platform Störung has been doing since 2006.

On the 12th of March the program of the event was officially presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA) and was followed by the audiovisual performance of Francisco López: one of great artists related to this project.

Kim Cascone (b. 1955, USA), became internationally famous in the 80’s working as a musical editor assistant in David Lynch’s works Twin Peaks and Wild at Heart. Nevertheless, his musical background is far wider. He started his studies in electronic music in the 70’s and founded in 1986 one of the pioneer labels of electronic music in the States, Silent Records.

In 2008 he became an active collaborator of Störung. For this event he has created a composition based on Circuit Bending and failure aesthetics that he defines as: "HAL 9000, from the Kubrick film 2001, has been decommissioned, and dumps a massive firehose of data to an immense RAID of hard drives teetering on the verge of crashing, and as the vast number of heads fuse with the plates, the I/O circuits release a final death scream that is secretly siphoned off to a stowaway’s portable data recorder and beamed out to the lonely black monolith".

Adern X, Billy Gomberg, Gerard G, Giorgio Magnanensi, Guido Henneböhl, Kim Cascone, Leif Brush, Marc McNulty, Mike Rooke, Noish and Ookoi are the artists that have contributed to create this work that is going to be diffused exclusively at Störung Festival 6.
